Levonelle One Step is a well known emergency contraceptive that has helped millions of women worldwide. It’s effective for up to 72 hours if you’ve had unprotected sex or your normal contraceptive has failed. Colloquially it is also referred to as the ‘morning after pill’ and has an 85% efficacy rate. It is however at its most effective within the first 24 hours.
The 24 hours after having unprotected sex is usually the best time to take Levonelle as it is 95% effective. Levonelle One Step is 85% effective 25 – 48 hours after unprotected sex. After 48 hours and up to 72 hours the effectiveness drops to 58 %. Levonelle One Step only causes mild side effects, and it’s safe for most women to take it.
Levonelle One Step is a clinically proven emergency contraceptive, but it’s still not entirely clear how it works to prevent pregnancy. It’s thought to work by changing the endometrium (womb lining), depending on the stage you are at in of your menstrual cycle, in a way that prevents ovulation and fertilisation, therefore stopping conception from taking place. Levonelle won’t be effective if you are already pregnant.
Levonelle 1500 is the prescription form of Levonelle One Step. You will need to fill in a short consultation form before you can buy Levonelle online. The process was designed to be straight forward to complete and consists of a form that contains a number of medical and personal health questions. After you complete the form, it will be sent to one of our team of registered medical doctors. They will review your consultation and approved it if you are suitable to take it. Our pharmacy will then be notified and the medication will be shipped using our next day delivery service.
Levonelle is safe to purchase if you are over 18 years of age and you have had unprotected sex or if your regular contraceptive has failed. It’s important to bear in mind that Levonelle is just an emergency contraceptive and shouldn’t be seen as an alternative to your normal contraceptive. Emergency contraception should not be used more than once during a menstrual cycle.
You should not buy Levonelle if you have an allergy to progestogen levonogestrel. It is also advisable that you do not take this contraceptive pill if you suffer from liver disease or any kind of bowel disease that causes malabsorption. This medication has been known to have negative reactions to HIV, epilepsy, TB, and fungal infection medications, and homeopathic remedies such as St John’s Wort.
It’s very important to complete the consultation as honestly and mention any medications that you are taking.
One tablet should be swallowed whole with some water as soon as possible after you have had unprotected sex. You shouldn’t discontinue your regular contraceptive after taking it. As Levonelle can only be used once during a menstrual cycle, it’s best to use a condom as a preventative measure during this time.
Although Levonelle is generally safe to use, there are a few side effects that can occur after you have used it. Nausea is most common among them. Some of the lesser known side effects include headaches, stomach pains, dizziness, feeling tired or breast tenderness. After taking Levonelle your period might also come later than usual and some bleeding or spotting may occur before the start of your next period.
Before you can buy Levonelle, you’ll be required to fill out a medical consultation online. The questions asked in the consultation are slightly more detailed than those you would be asked by your local pharmacy. This is to help us make sure that the medication is safe for you to use. After you’ve filled out the consultation form, it will be checked by one of our team of doctors and if it is approved, your emergency contraception will be dispatched from our pharmacy for delivery the next working day.
